We have a dream

On the International day of Children with disabilities, the 03.12.2006 LGS-Pogradec organised a couple of entertaining activities for these children, giving them the opportunity to enjoy themselves, have fun and feel equal with the other children at the same time. The main activity of this day was the open exhibition of paintings and other works from these children. Youngsters from Pogradeci’s high schools participated in this exhibition, too.

The first activity started at 10:00 a.m. in the school of the children with disabilities. At first Fatjon Hoxha, the club’s co-ordinator, made a presentation of all the following activities. Their concert was full of rhymes, songs and puzzles. They had also organised a carnival show and other miscellaneous games. At the end of the show, presents were distributed to all the children with disabilities and this due to the help of British Council. This activity lasted until 11:30, when all the participants set out towards the tourist site of Drilon, to pass 60 pleasant minutes surrounded by the fantastic and unique nature of Pogradeci’s most wonderful site. Afterwards at about 13:00, in the “Lasgush Poradeci” public garden, the children and Pogradeci’s LGS’ members planted some seedlings, in memory of this day. We hope that these seedlings will keep growing through the years. However, let’s continue sowing seedlings every 3rd of December.

We should also thank Pogradeci’s Municipality, which helped us with the seedlings, providing us a proper place to plant them. They are situated near the statue of our well-known poet Lasgush Poradeci.

At about 13:30 all the participants were pleased with the activity, but a little tired at the same time. That’s why Pogradeci’s LGS had booked a Pizzeria, where all could relax; enjoy the pizzas and also the view of the city promenade. This part of the activity wasn’t boring at all, because the participants danced all the time in the rhythm of Albanian and foreign songs.

After that all the children with disabilities were accompanied home to get ready for the exhibition.

The reception started at 16:00 and lasted 30 minutes. During this time the visitors could here live music in the background. Anula, a member of LGS Pogradec, made an opening speech. She described the activity and thanked the sponsors. Mr. Anastas Kostandini, a well-known painter, made a greeting speech and also Erveina Bashuri- the administrator of LGS ,and Fatjon Hoxha-the LGS’ coordinator of Pogradec; the president of “Muharrem Çollaku” high school: Fatjon Hoxha. At 17:00 the exhibition was declared open. Attached to the exhibition there was also a little *censored*tail. All the participants were very pleased with the level of organisation of the exhibition and they expressed their opinions in the Impression’s book. Fireworks were lighted in the end of the activity to mark success and festivity. The activity ended at about 18:00, but the exhibition lasted 5 days. The visitors were numerous; we can mention the vice-mayor Mr. Vilson Bega, the publisher of “Nositi” Mrs. Afroviti Gusho, the Municipality staff and students from Pogradeci’s High schools. The exhibition was closed in the 9th of December, leaving a beautiful memory in everyone who was part of it.

An interview with the LGS-pogradec coordinator

After the great project’s end there’s always a lot of hard work. We all give our best to make this projects look absolutely fantastic. And this gives us satisfaction, we earn a new experience and we are ready to develop new ideas. Read what the coordinator of the Pogradeci Club told us about their work.

Muaji Dhjetor ishte nje muaj I mbushur me aktivitete te shumta te realizuara nga Lets Get Started, Pogradec-club ne bashkepunim me Senatin e shkolles se mesme te profilizuar “Muharrem Collaku”. Aktiviteti I pare u zhvillua me 3-Dhjetor dhe kishte ne qender femijet me aftesi te kufizuara. Emri I ketij projekti ishte “We Have A Dream”. Por LGS-Pogradec, me daten 22-Dhjetor organizoi nje tjeter aktivitet mjaft te bukur dhe sinjifikativ.
